I like to think the northern hemisphere as the beta testers. So when summer does come around down under we should havea polished version with fewer bugs to deal with. We have enough of those in our lives, we don't need them in game.

Do speed runners there often play Northern Hemisphere versions of games due to bugs allowing more sequence breaks than local versions?

That would make sense. I would find it hilarious for the northern hemisphere speed runners play the game upside down with the southern hemisphere version.
