For education's sake, there's no evidence that Mark Twain ever said this.
He did say, "Imagine, if you will, that I am an idiot. Then, imagine that I am also a Congressman. But, alas, I repeat myself."
I personally think it's a bit mad people would make up quotes about Mark Twain, especially since he specifically stated "quotes on the Internet attributed to me are often false".
Smh my head.
I have it on good authority that Samuel Langhorne Clemens said it.
