Man... idk how (physically, not morally) you can do this to your pet. I have a chiuhuahua that straight up refuses to even let me touch her paws. I'm scard that because of her size (1.5kg), she might break something if she tries wiggling too hard and i'm holding her... we have to clip her nails while she's asleep so she doesn't notice

I have a 100lb pitbull with a nail trim phobia so bad that he will politely leave the room if he even sees me using wire strippers... AMA.

Oh yeah, my dog does the same but she'll hide behind her alternate fav person. For example, if my mom gets the human nail clippers, she'll come to me, ask for uppies and try and cuddle into me, "save me from the big clipper monster" (my mom). If I have anything shiny in hand she does the anxiety lick and she'll run to my mom and do the same thing... poor thing.

i digress. Have you got any tips that made clipping your dog's nails easier?

For ours, we use one of those suspension harness things that hang from a door jam, and some narcotic sedatives from the vet. He's the sweetest thing in the entire world, and he'll let a chihuahua bark him into a corner, and then be sad about it for the rest of the day because he couldn't make a new friend, but when nail clippers are involved, he just loses his entire mind. It really is like a phobia in the true DSM sense of the word.
