When has one of these reboots worked?

I don't know about others, but I kinda liked Picard. It was clear it was just an excuse to get the old gang back together, but it was enjoyable to watch.

I'm not sure how enjoyable it would have been to someone unfamiliar with TNG, but I enjoyed it.

Honestly I did get giddy setting the TNG crew back together in season 3 of Picard. I could leave the rest

Now that you mention it, it probably could have done without season 2.

picard was terriblely written series, the "nostalgia" gimmick was just to save the dying show.STD and snw wernt that great, and snw ranked about the other 2 series. however, LOWER DECKS AND PRODIGY were much better series than the other 2.

kurtzman being involved dint help anything either.

When has one of these reboots worked?

An example that comes to mind is the "reboot as new show but with blatant fan service cameos" formula used by "The Big Bag Theory", "Young Sheldon", and "Georgie's First Marriage".

Scrubs could be done well in the same style. Of course, I also liked the last time they tried it.

Another example that worked - "Mission Impossible" - the first movie was a good movie but a bad adaptation of the original show, but the series has gone on to become a completely worthy extension of the original show.

And...well...That's two. So I night just be sharing the exceptions that prove the rule.

Twin Peaks X-Men 97 Samurai Jack Veronica Mars - get decent reviews? (Still have yet to watch the series) But I hear there was mixed reviews on however it ended Cobra Kai - lasted 6 seasons Girl Meets World - Seems to have a decent score and I remember not totally hating it when my niece was watching it. Fraiser - I hear people like this
