micromobility - Bikes, scooters, boards: Whatever floats your goat, this is micromobility
Ebikes, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, longboards, eboards, motorcycles, skates, unicycles, heelies, or an office chair: Whatever floats your goat, this is all things micromobility!
"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.
micromobility is seen as a potential solution to moving people more efficiently around cities"

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Multiple cycle paths exist in the area offering literally hundreds of miles to explore. Beach side bike path runs from Newport Beach to Sunset beach. Newport Beach to Riverside and beyond via the Santa Ana River trail. Newport Back Bay loop. Newport Beach to Irvine Park via the Mountains to the Sea trail. Newport Beach to San Diego via PCH. So many options, no one is being unfairly limited.
Absolutely no valid reason to ride through the breeding area for the Western Snowy Plover which has threatened status under the US Endangered Species act.
Sounds fair on the beach part. How's the bike parking situation (re: confiscating anything locked to public property)? Are there regularly spaced places to lock up bikes?
Sometimes insufficient space on weekends but secure short term (not overnight) racks at beach. Parks, restrooms and racks reasonably spaced along mentioned beach and inland trails. Lots of commercial centers just off trails, racks and such are a crapshoot in shopping centers. .
Good to hear there's secure parking at the beach and along the trails. Sounds pretty typical regarding shopping centers. Would be nice if bikes were considered in parking plans and minimums.
Well designed racks in the middle of centers, not rim benders on the outside would be nice. Saddlebags help avoid issue.
