It's only a hack in the sense that anyone can lie on their taxes and not to pay the use tax which is sales tax on out of state purchases used in Washington.

Good to hear there's secure parking at the beach and along the trails. Sounds pretty typical regarding shopping centers. Would be nice if bikes were considered in parking plans and minimums.

Sounds fair on the beach part. How's the bike parking situation (re: confiscating anything locked to public property)? Are there regularly spaced places to lock up bikes?

As long as you have compatible hardware, it's great. I didn't bother researching when I built a new server and ended up switching to debian since bsd didn't support my nic.
