I had the same view (he pulled out of the Afghanistan, he mostly ended drone strikes, passed Chips Act, passed extremely watered-down Build Back Better bill, passed The Inflation Reduction Act, dealt with COVID moderately okay, he lowered some drug prices under Medicare, he passed moderate gun control bill), until he decided to unconditionally support a genocide. That just made him another modern American president that is a war criminal under international law. But even ignoring that, what he achived was barely moving a needle for improving the life for the working class. He failed to deliver full Build Back Better bill, he failed to raise minimum wage, he failed to forgive student loan debt, he failed to negotiate prices for all drugs that US government buys, he failed to lower cost of basic goods. That's just what he tried and failed to do.
But the story wasn't even about it. He was a disaster because he was sick, senile old dude that could barely speak and the DNC and their political aparatus protected him at the any cost, including making his brand toxic in the upcoming elections.
He failed because Americans gave him the most razor thin majority and when it came time to support him more they stayed home or voted Republican.
It's amazing how everyone can blame one single party and not the millions of Americans who did fuck all.
Party is not entitled to votes just because and this attitude is shared by corporate Democrats in charge and is the reason Democrats will continue to lose and lose. Apart from the Trump cult members which is around 25-30% of the US population, the rest of the voters were people who knew Trump was bad (they might have underestimated it), but they wanted to avoid the existing status que and they knew Trump would be anything but status que.
Look at Biden popularity. When he was the most popular? When he delivered cash checks to people during stimulus package. Deliver for working people and they will deliver for you. Continue robbing people blind and supporting corporate overlords and people will continue to not deviler for you.
They're not entitled.
You and every other American are also not entitled to a decent life, as evidenced.
So do with that what you will. People want to be stupid then they'll continue getting their just desserts.
