There are fewer businesses that are scummier than airlines.

Edit: Damn people, I didn't say there were NO businesses scummier. There definitely are. I just think airlines are up there and they get away with a lot. Constantly raising prices, tons of additional fees, immense government subsidies taken from our tax dollars, bizarre and nonsensical fluctuations in price designed to be confusing and exploitative. Plus they're always crying like they're moments away from going out of business, yet they make massive profits. There are absolutely scummier businesses, but these assholes rank high among them.

Credit Agencies. Equifax, Trans Union, Experian.

Data brokers.

The KRE group

Payday Lenders (If you ever had to use one, you know)

I mean you're right, airlines are scummy.

But there is a lot of company if you think about it.
