Two of these are absolutely not unusual in any way whatsoever (Pizza/Ranch, Hot Dog/Ketchup). So they stay, and shouldn't have even been included to be honest.
I've heard that Apple Pie/Cheese is good, and I've heard Fries/Milkshake is good.
However, ultimately, it comes down to one thing for me; the grotesquery of consumption in my mind's eye.
You can eat Apple Pie/Cheese with cutlery and in a non-gross way.
Fries/Milkshake, on the other hand? I can't help but picture the mess. The sloppiness, the salty, licked fingers in the milkshake. The temperature differences. Something about the image is sweaty and more than a little bit profane to me.
Fries/Milkshake has got to go, purely for violating my sense of decorum.
Hotdog and ketchup is just a tip off that this is pure engagement bait.
But it's fucking good bait WHO PUTS CHEESE ON AppLE PIE
It's an extremely old timey way of eating it, but it happens
I'd make it illegal simply because an ex of mine ate it that way and he was a snobby fuck.
sorry the National Hotdog And Sausage Council guidelines forbid ketchup on a dog after you're 18 years old I don't make the rules
Would cream cheese be less insulting? 👀 I actually have no idea what cream cheese is
Pizza and ranch is incredibly unusual outside the US because that sauce doesn't exist anywhere else
I believe if you put ketchup on a hot dog in Chicago, you will drastically shorten your lifespan to minutes
The other two are just no
Oh I assumed Ranch was just like a sort of garlic herb sauce? We have that at most pizza places in the UK at least. You're right though, I honestly have no idea what Ranch is lol
So they’re kinda close but not really. Ranch has buttermilk so it’s tangier and is definitely its own flavor.
It's similar but also completely different. I forgot what's actually in it though. Blue Doritos are ranch flavour.
Pretty weird inside the U.S. too tbh. It sounds like something that could be popular in the mid-west maybe?
Milkshake and fries is amazing. Milkshake is roughly the consistency of ketchup, so if you can dip your fries in ketchup you are certainly capable of doing so with a milkshake.
Wendy’s frosty and fries was like a staple for every kid I knew when we were growing up.
Taking nice apple pie and putting cheese on top is for heathens.
When I first read "Milkshake is roughly the same consistency of ketchup", I didn't want to believe it. On reflection, though, I think you're right.
I think the temperature differences still creep me out a little bit, but I wanted to ask -- what flavour milkshake is best with fries?
A good vanilla or chocolate milkshake is best, in my opinion. I prefer chocolate myself. No need for the m&m oreo caramel marshmallow whatever crazy option. If you’re doing that, just have the milkshake.
EDIT: and as for the temperature difference, well, that’s part of the beauty of it. Hot fries and cold ice cream. Works better than you think!
