Having touched a decent number of animals most people haven't touched, I felt the need to get a bit creative.
Of the many oddballs I've gotten to interact with, gotta say Old World Porcupines wouldn't be the first to come to mind, but it may be the most satisfying animal I've touched, and I recommend it with no reservations!
Look at this beauty! This here is a Cape Porcupine.
Great variety of textures.
The obvious pokey bits, you doooo need to watch how you touch them. There are thick ones that are pretty solid, though still hollow but don't flex. There are longer and thinner ones, and these are pretty cool. They are almost like really long soda straws. You can't outright bend it, but they're spingy.
Moving up to the torso, those hairs are still plasticky, but like artificial Easter grass or that fake grass carpet made out of my old soda bottles, but longer strands.
Now we get to the real prize though... Those ears! The other bits were fun to touch, but all plasticky. Its tiny little ears are the softest velvet your fingers could handle as a mortal being. Zebras are really soft, but not as much as these teensy ears.
And while you're scritching those ears, you look into that face like a huge otter. There are some big rodent teeth, but give it some sliced banana and it will nip through the peel and nibble up all that goodness. It'll be like a puppy and jump on your lap looking for more nanners, and that's a little scary as you're still thinking about all those pokey bits, but they're all in the rear, so your safe, and you just go back to scratching its face and torso.
If you love unusual animals, get your hands on one of these if there's a place near you doing animal experiences. 10 out of 10 stars!
