Is it hard to get tickets to 70mm IMAX theaters? I have 2 real IMAX theaters near me but they are digital so I've never been to a 70mm screening. I get it if you want to watch it on the first day, but I assume getting tickets for subsequent days shouldn't be an issue, unless 70mm screenings have a limited run time.
There aren't that many IMAX 70mm theaters in the world (less than 100, I think, and there are only 30 in the US). Christopher Nolan is an extremely popular director known for utilizing IMAX 70mm, so his movies tend to sell out in this format a lot. As we get closer to the release date, I'm certain they'll add more showtimes, this marketing stunt is to prove the viability of creating and distributing IMAX 70mm prints.
