Understanding that everyone else is also human is really just the ground floor of empathy. You can go so much further than that.

Yeah, like the certainty that if I had been subjected to identical conditions as those that brought an antagonist before me, that I would not have deviated by one atom from their path, and would find myself in the exact same shoes, clothes, skin, mind, and soul.

And we're still just talking about human minds.

The conditions alone aren’t what determines a person’s character. It’s also the choices they make along the way.
