is it a different situation than the lcd model? there are patches for ram increase and different display that can be applied to the lcd model but you have to disable auto update and manually install patched updates though I'm pretty sure there haven't been any recent ones

No clue. Don't even have a steamdeck myself. I'm sure a similar mod could be done if you have the correct ram chips and tools plus the ability to mod the UEFI.
