I mean those followers wouldn't mean much if Bluesky stopped indexing your profile though, unless they also jumped to an alternative relay.
I don't want to labour this point too much, I generally agree with you that Bluesky handles this better and it's the direction fedi should be heading.
That's a fault of everyone using bluesky's infrastucture, the same could happen on the fediverse.
That's the biggest problem rn imo.
