Wait, this seems to be a matter of different perspectives.
It depends on how far they are from crashing, when they have to make the decision.
You seem to have the plane at more distance, with them having more time to access the situation and decide in time if they hit place A or B.
In my head, i was seeing them about to crash in a few hot seconds, when they had to decide.
If there's a flight attendant running around asking opinions, I'd say they've got plenty of altitude
