DC Cinematic

Enter the dome for news and discussion of DC Films and DC streaming shows, both past and future, animated and live-action alike.

We welcome discussion of DC Elseworlds as well as the DCEU/DCU!

1.) No spoilers in titles and unformatted comments. No spoilers in post titles and spoilers in comments should be formatted correctly.

A spoiler is anything not yet released for home viewing.

A spoiler is not trailers, comics, casting announcements or any other official marketing material.

Comments in [Spoiler] tagged posts do not need to be hidden.

2.) No name calling and general lack of civility. Name calling and general lack of civility will not be tolerated. This is a judgement free zone embracing the subjective nature of film and entertainment. Opinions that do not match your own should be expected.

3.) Don't be a fanboy or a troll. Definition of a fanboy: A virulent loyalist of a fandom, franchise, or brand. Keep in mind that having a preference, a natural state for fans of any pastime with a form of competition, is not a symptom of fanboyism by itself.

Definition of a troll: A troll makes a habit of deliberately offensive or provocative posting with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them.

This includes throwaway accounts and usernames composed in bad faith. These may be banned on sight.

4.) Don't repost. Reposts and articles that do not link back to the original source of news will be removed. Blog posts that discuss and theorize about said news are allowed.

5.) Post on topic. Please only submit posts relating to the DC Extended Universe or other animated/live-action movies based on DC or Vertigo Comics. You can talk about pre-Man of Steel DC movies. This is not a place to discuss animated/live action TV shows not connected to the DCEU/DCU.

6.) Observe proper form with post titles. No spoilers in post titles. Linked articles and videos should be submitted with their original title. When posting other content, the post title should be simple and descriptive. No excessive emoting in post titles, whether in words or emojis. All CAPS titles will be removed. Soapbox post titles (ex. "Wake up, sheeple!" posts) are discouraged. References to voting or karma in a title is grounds for removal. The moderators reserve the right to remove low-quality titles so they can be resubmitted.

7.) Low quality posts will be removed This includes

• Clickbait, fake news, and other sensationalized items.

• Recurring low-effort discussions, such as "Am I the only one who..." posts, redundant worry/concern/hypothetical/soapbox posting

• Posts with titles or bodies that employ hyperbolic/sensational/reactionary language.

• Soapbox posts

• Low-effort memes

• Sourceless "rumors."

• Thread spam, such as back-to-back posting.

• All final discretion lies with the moderation team.

MODERATORS

Hey everyone,

I wanted to give you all a heads-up about some upcoming changes.

I recently got a DM from one of the admins here at literature.cafe (@Arthur@literature.cafe).

The admins have voted to tighten the rules on what types of communities are allowed on this instance. Going forward, only literature and literature-adjacent communities will be permitted.

Since this community is more focused on TV, movies, and the DC Cinematic Universe, it no longer fits within the updated scope of literature.cafe. The admins were kind enough to reach out directly and offer help with transitioning affected communities.

Because of that, we’re officially moving this community to Lemmy.World.

👉 Here’s the new home for us: !dc_cinematic@lemmy.world

I completely understand the reasoning behind the changes here on lit.cafe—the admins want to keep this instance tightly focused on a cozy, bookish atmosphere. No hard feelings at all, and I appreciate how respectful they’ve been in reaching out.

That said, if you’d like to continue discussing all things DC Cinematic, please make sure to join us at the new community link above.

I’ll be continuing moderation there, and all the same rules + spirit of discussion will carry over.

Thanks so much to everyone who’s been contributing here. Looking forward to seeing you all over at Lemmy.World!
