What are her politics other than that? Is she a liberal/centrist or leftist of some sort, or is this one of those periodic reinventions of fascism in a more inclusive form?
Insanity. She defends her archfascist grandfather's memory, but takes a variety of socially liberal positions.

I was wondering what "learned the error of her ways" meant. That's a pretty loaded phrase depending on who's saying it.
She was a full on member of the Italian Fascist party in the 2000s. Overall her politics seem to be kind of all over the place because despite doing things like this she still defends her grandfather.
