Title is worded in a way that suggests it’s unusual for the army to be deployed within own country borders.
It is. You're not deployed when you're at home, unless there's someone actively invading your borders.
Stationed, or based, is not deployed.
You deploy to missions e.g. combat.
That's HIGHLY unusual. Most countries have laws against that, or very specific groups that can only be deployed in their own country.
This is an example of honkwiching
