Just a reminder that the US passed a law in 2011 that said any “terrorist” detained by the US military is not entitled to the normal US due process rights of a speedy trial.

In short: the military can imprison “terrorists” indefinitely without trial.

The specific law that allows this: NDAA 2012 which includes a provision in section 1021 which allows the military to detain “any person who has committed a belligerent act or has supported such hostilities in aid of [forces engaged in hostilities against the United States].”
