Their places aren't wealthy.

To me, wealth is being able to live your life in a green environment, healthy, with no pollution, being able to bike anywhere, eat healthily; with corporations having no power; being able to vote freely and fairly, and if it goes wrong, you have the knowledge that you won't get arrested but will receive help to get back on track; and all that without an extensive surveillance police state.

In short, everything the US isn't.
