A federal judge in Massachusetts ruled Tuesday that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Secretary of State Marco Rubio violated the First Amendment by targeting pro-Palestinian students for deportation in order to strike fear into international students and curb lawful speech.

In a 161-page decision, U.S. District Judge William Young delivered a blistering assessment of the Trump administration's efforts to pursue international students who expressed pro-Palestinian views on college campuses, which he said was constitutionally protected speech.

Another case where the decision is a better skim (or read) than the news article imo. Much credit to cbs for linking it directly! Still, for those passing by: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mad.282460/gov.uscourts.mad.282460.261.0.pdf

The remediation portion is apparently the next task for this court. As it notes in section 4, options are limited.

I see far too many articles that say something like study finds or judge rules without actually linking to the study/ruling very glad it was here.
