Oh, cool, so something is actually going to be done about it? No? Oh, okay, then. Apparently the constitution is just a suggestion.
Law
Discussion about legal topics, centered around United States
Constitution is just a document. It can't do anything by itself. It is the citizens who should enforce it.
Citizens don't have the authority to enforce it. Judges are supposed to.
Citizens are the ONLY authority. The only source of laws and power in the country. There is no one above citizens,.
That's a fine take, but authority comes in different forms, and the current administration is doing everything they can to make both citizens and judges ineffectual at enforcing anything. I firmly believe everything Trump is currently doing is leading up to peaceful protesters being branded as terrorists and Trump trying to deploy the military against them.
As much as I'd like to think we could just stage a revolution right now, I certainly don't know how to organize something like that on a national scale, and nobody else seems to, either. Small-scale revolts won't lead to anything except giving Trump the justification he needs to deploy the military now. Single citizens trying to exercise authority on this scale that they mistakenly think they have won't end well for them or anyone else.
I certainly don’t know how to organize something like that
Somebody else does. Look for these people. Unite. Yes, it is hard and dangerous. Living under a psycho-king regime won't be safe either...
Another case where the decision is a better skim (or read) than the news article imo. Much credit to cbs for linking it directly! Still, for those passing by: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mad.282460/gov.uscourts.mad.282460.261.0.pdf
The remediation portion is apparently the next task for this court. As it notes in section 4, options are limited.
Thanks, you the human!
I see far too many articles that say something like study finds or judge rules without actually linking to the study/ruling very glad it was here.
