It does! He recently hit an all time low for approval ratings.

The more people that turn on him, the less likely a true civil war is. Civil War is the worst case scenario for America right now. I don't believe Trump is capable of actually pulling a Hitler (though he's trying, he's just too stupid and demented). Civil War, however... This could happen, and it would be bad for everyone.

This said, a replacement could do worse. Hard to look into the future right now when we're all taking things one day at a time... But Trump's cruelty seems to be the glue of the GOP. When he dies, since he's an old ass man with dementia, things could fall apart for them.

So... For now it's a very good thing when Trump loses support.
