- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. How is it inaccurate? You say that we aren't resisting, somebody said that your local resistance orgs are, and you say that you saw the furries and assumed that was all of them.
That is literally you complaining that you're being too lazy to find or found an effective org. I'm in a rural town of less than 2k and we've managed to grow our local org to over 40 people in just a few weeks. Stop whining and do some work.
I’m saying I don’t know where the local groups are who aren’t furries—not that they are actual furries.
And if any groups existed anywhere, we would be hearing about those actions… and we aren’t. All we hear about is maga burning down judges houses.
Unless you’re saying you’re in one of those groups…
Two questions.
One, why would corporate owned media give any legitimacy to a resistance movement?
Two, why would a resistance org give the system a heads up?
The real resistance is, by necessity, an underground resistance. You'll need to do some digging before you find it.
If noticeable actions happened by anyone, the media would eat it up. A smart group of people would never claim ownership of an event, they would just let it happen.
I never said heads up so I dunno how to answer that.
I think that you’re just making up a bunch of shit to make you feel like a badass.
I’m going to guess you didn’t see the question, instead of you dodging it… so I’ll ask again. Do you favor the MAGA “movement” over the anti-MAGA “movement?”
My apologies, I thought it was obvious that we're talking about organizing against MAGA here.
I guess I'm not understanding what you're expecting. What do you need to see before you consider a resistance org valid?
Edit: Actually, I just looked through the thread and you never actually asked me the question you're accusing me of dodging. I don't think you're operating in good faith here, so have a nice day.
I’d need to see actual resistance. Standing on a corner isn’t resistance. Action is resistance. Can you provide a specific example of an action that any anti-fascist person or group has done? Anything?
I get a feeling that our mutual aid network and plans on how to protect the immigrant community in my neighborhood if ICE shows up aren't what you'd consider "real action" either.
I don't think any action will be enough to satisfy you, and if there was, you'd just say I'm lying. I cannot convince you if you do not want to look farther than your own preconceptions.
Yeah that’s nice, but it’s not gaining any ground. I don’t think you’re the right person to talk to about this.
How is more than doubling in size in less than a month "not gaining ground"?
I mean gaining ground on fascism in general. I’m not saying what you’re doing isn’t great, but it’s not fighting fascism. It’s just protecting your own community’s immigrants as well as you can while fascism inevitably conquers the country. That’s not what I’m looking for.
TIL the people who hid jews in the attic weren't fighting fascism.
False equivalence.
Okay, so if setting up mutual aid isn't fighting fascism, what have you been doing to fight fascism so I can learn from your example
Setting up mutual aid is a humanitarian effort.
Alas, I can’t prove anything to you because that would be admitting to a crime in public. I’m sure that you can agree that would be a dumb thing to do just to win a squabble on the internet.
So you do understand why nobody's talking about their antifascist actions online. Why you've gotta actually show up to group meetings before you hear about it.
You said earlier there weren't any because all you saw were furries dancing, and that you didn't show up to the group meetings. You're not seeing antifascist action because you're being lazy.
Yawn.
You’re just purposefully missing the point to argue. You go do your thing, which is a great thing to do.
