I don’t get these murders. Who is this possibly helping? What purpose does this serve? I know they want to get rid of Venezuela’s leadership but why slaughter these people?

Any conflict with Venezuela can be used to start a war that could keep Trump in office.

It's probably in the best interest of Venezuela and many other governments to not give Trump this opportunity.

How would a war keep Trump in office? The US doesn't have any laws that will stop elections during war time. Trump think that they do, because he told Zelensky that, and Ukraine has laws preventing an election during war.

Legally speaking it doesn't, but it does grant him many more ways to use executive powers which he could definetly levy to accumulate enough power to remove term limits from the equation.
