half of all interactions I have seen from lemmy.ca users have been attempting to incite violence from Americans against Americans.

you should read some of the shit that your fellow users are saying to Americans. Not very "Canadian", sounds more like MAGA.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I wonder how much of that is "you guys need to do something more than protest" being interpreted as "go out and kill people".

There is more that can be done that doesn't involve violence. But every time it comes up, there is some excuse for why it can't be done.

Lots of Canadians, like me, are frustrated and tired of watching America sleepwalk into full blown fascism. And while I respect people for protesting, I'm at the same time appalled that this was not the largest protest in US history.

So good on everyone who tried but shame on you as a nation if that is the best you can do.
