Explanation: During Mehmed the Conqueror's Siege of Constantinople, he managed to bring down the ancient and formidable city by using a large number of a then-cutting-edge technology - cannons!

They are, indeed, lethal.

Bombs aren't lethal.

Out of most bombs that have been dropped in history, how many have directly hit a person?

Good thing both cannons and bombs are famous for only being effective if they directly hit a person.
