GenX here. I thought they were dope but never knew anyone who had one. I'd love it but my drunk ass would fall into the pit every night. About fell in our little 150G pond last night, fell in with both feet 3 weeks ago.

Millenial, myself: I had extended family that had sunken living rooms (and one great aunt who had a bitchin' split-level home). I still think those are super nice, and I build them into my Sims homes (the only home I'll ever own 😭).
