Although I am not married myself, I have many friends who are. For our government to tell them that their marriages are meaningless, would have been the last motherfucking straw.
The 40 million starving’s not a last straw?
This bears repeating:
We still got plenty of Irish babies. No one's going to starve.
I care about gay marriage too but I'm more concerned about people being deprived of basic needs like food and heat
These issues are not mutually exclusive, and it is legitimately okay for one marginalized group to be concerned more for things that directly affect them. That does not in any way negate the urgency or importance of any other issues.
We need to stop treating everything going on as a binary (black and white) problem. That’s what they want us to do, and why we’re being bombarded with so many bad things all at once. They are purposely dividing us, and so far it’s working.
They were saying the gay marriage thing would've been the last straw for them. So they haven't yet reached their last straw with people starving
This shit pisses me off. It's ok to have different priorities. Whining about what you should be more mad about on the internet is not fucking productive.
This admin is doing 1000 evil things. You don't need to run a purity test on everyone that says they're upset.
I'm wondering how anyone can possibly not have reached "the last straw" ages ago. They need it to be 1001 evil things?
Yeah, maybe they did. Is it great that the other things didn't cause action? No. Is passing judgement on the person that's changing their mind going to be at all helpful? Also no. Infighting and purity tests only serve to help the fascists keep us distracted.
People are going to DIE but they have not yet reached "the last straw" because people can still get married
What are you hoping to accomplish with this meaningless provocation? Make yourself feel less worthless?
