Did steam actually drop the price point yet or are they just speculating? If it's the later than the title is rather misleading.

just speculation.

only things valve employees said about prices is:

  • they are targetting a lower price for the frame than the index (index was 1000$ afaik)
  • the machine will be priced as a pc and not as a console (whatever that means)
  • prices will be announced closer to launch.

Which is a bummer imo, since I don't think people already considering a lower midrange PC today are the target demographic, but I would love to be proven wrong.
