This does not work, the right lane is on ramps off ramps and generally people going under the speed limit and would give me the same issue of not being able to cruise for my 3-hour journey.

But don't worry! They already can easily overtake me it's called the passing Lane! in my state as well as the state I'm going to and from the leftmost lane of a three-lane highway is specifically for passing! You are not meant to be traveling in it consistently, They just need a couple brain cells to rub together

I think you misunderstand what the right and middle lanes are for. But since I don't know where you're from, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

What's a "on ramps off ramps"?

In most of the world the right lane is where you drive all the time. You only move to the middle or left lane when overtaking or taking some exit, or when there's traffic joining the highway.

But I guess as you said, it's more convenient for you to just stay in the middle and ignore the rules.

On ramp is people entering the freeway, off-ramp is exits where I'm from all of that happens on the right side. The rightmost lane frequently forces you into an exit only, ends entirely and then comes back shortly after, if you are traveling for an extended distance it is actually expected that you are in the Middle Lane. The leftmost lane is not meant to be traveled in , it is specifically labeled as a passing Lane it is to be used only when you are passing someone in the Middle Lane and if you are cruising in it instead of just passing you can actually get a ticket
