im not sure bigotry is the goal as much as control is.

The rich may have material investment in bigotry, but don't discount that they also develop emotional investment in it as well. Even if Vivian Wilson were her father's sole heir and fully on board with continuing his financial and business empire, none of these right wing billionaires would ever tolerate their child marrying her.

It's the same reason Frederick the Great of Prussia had a childhood boyfriend killed by his father.
