Can someone explain why the system upgrade on Bazzite (doesn't matter if ujust command, rpm-ostree or the system update script) is so damn slow? I'm running the update on a Legion Go that was sitting on the shelf for a couple of weeks. The 7 GB update is running for 5 hours now! And it's at chunk 9/71...

This is even worse than Windows XP SP4 updates. Common, why is that a thing in 2025?

Sounds like bad download speed? Can you measure the download speed during update on your device and can you determine what download speed you can expect?

I tried wireless and the connected docking station with same results. The download speed is abysmal, it sits idle for minutes before showing something like 50-100KiB/s.

There's another PC with Bazzite in the same network that works fine, but as I remember the update scripts are different between deck and desktop images. (Desktop runs silent in the background, Deck is manual).

That's really strange. I don't think this is only because of desktop's background updates. I manually update my bazzite on desktop regularly and the downloads work fine.

Have you checked if your slow download speed only occurs when downloading bazzite updates or could it be a problem with your device?

Have you considered raising an issue on github.com/ublue-os/bazzite?
