Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

They want to throw undesirables out of the country. Until that motive and goal is not part of US leadership, they will find excuses to ignore any road blocks. The best course of action is to force them to become as brutal as possible, as fast as possible, and hope the sudden shock of brutality wakes America the fuck up.

I'm always wary of accelerationist approaches to social progress. 😬

It's because this person doesn't give a fuck about working people and probably isn't American, so it won't be their friends and family in the gas chamber

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Imagine believing that standing up for your constitution will get citizens the gas chamber and then deciding NOT to act. Jesus Christ.

[–] umbrellacloud@leminal.space 0 points 2 days ago

If I ever did act against a similarly tyrannical government, I would never tell you, because you would post about it here to seem cool and end up getting me killed.

You are so fucking stupid. "I hope these peasents are tortured more, and hopefully that will wake them up!" Wake us up from what to do what? Holy fuck.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The “tortured peasants” have shown they’re willing to overlook literally anything as long as they maintain their lifestyles. Whatever is necessary to wake them up at this point, if you want to keep your country.

[–] umbrellacloud@leminal.space 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This comment makes no sense. It doesn't matter what they overlook or not. They can feel however they want to feel about it. The average person can't do anything about it regardless of their personal feelings.

World history is full of average people doing what’s right against great odds.

You’re a nation of cowards. It’s fine.

Come over here and help then

From complacency and a complete lack of political action of any kind. You all could stop this if you were involved in politics, in political action, but you don't, you sit on the sidelines of history, on Facebook and tiktok and waste your potential on the circus that the techbros keep you distracted with. That you think it would only matter if you could personal stop Trump is sort of the problem, just find likeminded people and start talking about what's happening and what you realistically could be doing. Is that really too much to ask? The entire world is suffering from MAGA and Trump and y'all have the responsibility by virtue of being American voters. MAGA and Trump is the American citizen's responsibility. The world won't forget the complacency of Americans to the consequences of their own political indifference.

[–] umbrellacloud@leminal.space 1 points 1 day ago

"The world won't forget that the unwashed peasents living paycheck to paycheck allowed Trump to rape them and their children. Meanwhile, our world leaders will continue to make deals with Trump because fuck the poor."

[–] umbrellacloud@leminal.space 1 points 1 day ago

There is no such thing as "American voters" you stupid fucking muppet we are living under an actual fascist regime, this isn't the movies.

[–] umbrellacloud@leminal.space 0 points 1 day ago

It's really easy for you to do this from the comfort of your own home. Book a flight and bring a bullet proof vest if you're so fucking brave. They shoot at protestors over here, this isn't Canada.
