That's indeed where they're headed. I was just clarifying what the service was. I wouldn't pay for the service. I buy/play what I can run. When I do buy a game, I try to move toward non DRM titles, if I do buy a drm title and there's a stripped version, i'll always tuck it away in case steam ever loses their mind.

If I'm already paying for a service, I should damn well be able to use it for days, not showering, not eating, wearing diapers, dehydrating myself, on end if I so choose to.

Yeah the cap they introduced is damning. They just cut it back a touch... Oh, if you want to play a lot, you have to pay just a little bit more. It wasn't enough to make them bank or pay for 15 more hours of server costs; it was a toe in the water to gauge the community's appetite to pay more for less.
