Remember that Cryptkeeper liar Kellyanne Conway, from his first term? She got so many fines for violations of the Hatch Act, that they totalled over $100,000, which she never paid, of course.(and nobody has made her).
When asked if she was concerned about the rising fines, she just said "Let me know when they are talking about jail time."
Or like Aldo Rains from Inglorious Bastards, when he shoots Hans Landa's assistant, and Landa shouts "You'll be shot for that!" And Aldo says "Shot? I don't think so. More like chewed out. I been chewed out before."
That's how these people think. They don't care that it's wrong or illegal or immoral. All that matters are consequences, and if there are none, then it's as good as legal. Even if the consequences are fines, that's okay because they either won't pay them, or they have so much money that they don't even care. Just pay and keep operating. It's just the price of doing business.
So what is an impeachment but a glorified chewing out? It carries no fine or penalty of any sort. To them, it just means their enemy has put it on the record, but they don't care. He was already impeached twice, once for an Insurrection that would have gotten him and every one of his followers hunted down and hanged in the not so distant past, and he actually got reelected.
Impeachment without a conviction in the Senate is a toothless, pathetic waste of time, and only highlights how weak the Democratic opposition really is.
