Come on dude, that's copium. Would it have eventually happened? Sure, the MAGA movement is the new mainstream right wing and this could've become a common sentiment through think tank pushes. Would it have happened right now under Kamala? Lmfao fuck no, that's ridiculous
If you were really saying both sides would've been just as bad, just take the L and move on. Kamala wouldn't have pardoned my country's drug lord ex-president, among hundreds of other things, and that's facts.

It was inevitable this would have happened given how your "progressives" have been running the country when they were in power for the past 40 years. It was inevitable that the wide-spread alienation and destitution of your populace, while at the same time being told that they're imagining it, would bring forth a fascist regime. It was inevitable when all the effort of progressives was wasted on electioneering, instead of creating the bottom-up structures that could combat fascism.
Which ones were these "progressives"? Because I very much think that anyone running anything was self-proclaimed moderate at best.
