Almost a decade ago he came home with me from the shelter, and yesterday I had to say goodbye for the last time. But he had so much personality that I'll never forget him.

Kevin loved light strokes across the top of his head, his purr would take on a whistling chirp when he was really happy, and nothing would make him short-circuit like seeing a bird out the window.

Kevin loved to chase a ball and play fetch, one of his favorite things to do was simply take a walk back and forth through the hall with you at his side.

We learned to live with each other, we annoyed each other, but most of all we loved each other. Nothing will be able to fill the void his passing has created, but memories of him will keep me smiling long into the future.

I miss you buddy.

If I could materialize condolences, and give them all to you... well, I guess that would be a headache of a storage issue for most people... but I would still want to give them all to you

It's almost impossible to describe loss sometimes; and yet we all experience it, if we're lucky enough to stay longer than those whom we love. I know it's cliché, but "better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all"... a bittersweet notion

The fact that a stranger feels compelled to offer condolences, regardless of societal pressure... is a testament to the love and companionship you shared with Kevin. I am truly so sorry for your loss, and I hope you're doing well enough through it all

Until the end and beyond, you'll forever be best friends. And the world is better for it. So, three cheers to Kevin!
