A few years ago during the writers strikes i remember going to the picket line to support organized labor. i was talking to a union functionary outside... I think cbs or abc studios in los angeles. Dont quote me on which one it was.
While we spoke the union functionary ordered the picket line to part for a studio van to go over a driveway into the studio.
I politely asked the union functionary "what the fuck? Why did you let that car through?" The union functionary replied that it was illegal to let the car through. The union functionary then implied i was a cop, because i suggested 'doing something illegal'.
The writers along with the crew and actors who stood in solidarity with them arranged no street theatre, no low budget or charity productions to attack bosses or support strike funds, not so much as podcasts in their favor.
If you pay for these services, you are paying capital.. The writers actors and crew dont even seriously want a cut of the money. Theyre certainly not getting it. Paying for media is anti-labor.
