Alderman? Are they related to endermen?

For others (and also myself):

Role: Legislative members of city or town governments, often similar to a city councilor.

Origin: Derived from the Old English ealdorman ("elder man"), historically referring to high-ranking officials or magistrates.

Usage: Commonly used in US cities (e.g., Chicago, with 50 aldermen) and historically in Britain.
