Crossing Kazakhstan off the list of places I'd like to visit....
Does that go for the UK as well?
The uk kinda sucked even without being a political villain while in recent years semi hiding behind the more openly unhinged villains and not even doing a good job of it.
I went there for a couple weeks on a school trip and it was kinda funny asking for a root beer at pizza hut, being asked nothing, and getting just a beer, and some other kids got in trouble later for sneaking alcohol to their rooms, while our table just had like 2 each about two tables over from one of the teacher groups.
Other than the pizza hut which was just as bad as home, all the food was inexplicably bland. Even the brand name rice krispies cereal was more bland somehow. Like sure we probably just have undocumented sugar or something in it at home but at least put a bit of salt or something... works for bread at least. Try making bread without salt, its kinda like that.
The city areas were kinda filthy apart from the obvious touristy spots. Out in the sticks looking part where there was nothing but our hotel as far as the eye could see was ok but literally just because there was actual nothing to complain about in that leg of the trip. Like nothing to praise or complain about. I have no idea why that was even a stop or what the hell was up with that place. How the hell do they get any business unless its owned by the family of one of the teachers and they only open for the school trips. Three of the kids got pinkeye from two separate hotels also...
The only thing I can't really judge on is even though a bunch of people said weird shit we didn't understand which we guessed was regional boomer slang, everywhere we went randoms would compliment our friend's kinda unique voice as a really nice accent even though it wasn't really an accent and more of a nasal structural sounding kind of thing.
