Can someone please explain in great detail what's happening
Extremist dev of the Tesseract front end for Lemmy coded in a secret blacklist full of thousands of users, communities, and instances. Further adding to the duplicity was that Instead of displaying a note that anything was banned, it returned a generic error message as if to make users think there was only a technical issue.
How were the users identified and why am I on that list?
anything that might scare of the "normies" was considered bannable. Luigiposting for instance. That was the stated aim of the project to make it a safe-space for the most fragile group on the internet, the normies.
