A story as old as politics. It's always been tradition to blame the previous government. Even here in Australia.

There's an official ceremony here where they blame the previous party for everything and shit. it's called inauguration.

Get this, here the current government does that too. It's a coalition of three parties. Aside from one short exception, all previous governments for the last 30 years had at least one of those three parties. Sometimes two of them. Still they say their hardship comes because previous governments did not spend enough on maintenance, or spend too much on the wrong things. They take 0 responsibility, while their own party was there making choices.
