I am learning website development on my own by developing a website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Currently there is no JavaScript used, as I am still developing and learning new things related to HTML and CSS. I am just at the beginning stage.

Actually, this is very interesting, as I am not learning a pre-designed textbook or YouTube videos. I am actively building a website and learning from it.

I already used HTML templates and Hugo and Zola, like static website generators. So writing code was never harder, but implementing features or arranging screen space is a big pain.

I know the site looks a lot uglier, but before it was more ugly and misaligned than this. At least I managed to make it like this.

The posts and contents on this website are converted from my Hugo site, which used Markdown format. The site link is provided at the footer, and the code is also on GitHub. The images are from Unsplash and Pixel sources.

Nice job. If I were you I would:

  • remove the pictures in the "recent posts" bar on the left
  • in each post: make the pictures smaller, I have to scroll down to read the text, and also remove the legend of the pictures
  • make the pictures smaller in the list of posts, and decrease the padding or margin, because it only shows 3 posts on my screen. You could easily show 6 posts instead.

Ok. I will try to make those changes.

In display:grid, using auto-fit may work properly if i reduced the padding and border spaces.

Can you please tell me, did you visit the website via a mobile or desktop browser?

LibreWolf on Linux Mint (desktop), and Chrome (eww) on GrapheneOS (mobile).

And you have nice and specific commits too which is good (each commit having one purpose, etc.)

As you suggested, i removed the images on sidebar, then updated its container size, margin and padding values. Posts overview page now shows 6 posts at a time. Thumbnails look smaller.

Because i removed the global margin value for , posts and about section requires modification with specific classes. I will do it when i have more free time.

Nice. If you realllllly have time to waste, I do wonder why your blog doesn't have a RSS and/or Atom feed that I can put in my RSS reader?

But it's not mandatory, I'm nitpicking and it may be too hard to do (to be honest, I don't know how to do that either).
