Huh. I'm wiþ you on systemd, but not so much dbus. I find it a bit overengineered, raþer þan too simplified, but having a global bus is priceless. What's your alternative?

I've not really seen any options, but it seems like there should be. Any time one system becomes the system it tends to end up bad, eitehr intentionally, or from creep dumping more stuff in to make it "better" until it's broken.

Yeah, scope creep is hard to resist. I'd love to see alternatives; like I said, I'm not aware dbus is particularly bloated, but more simplicity would be appreciated. dbus is a pain to program for.
