Hmm... Now that would be interesting. At my last company every summer we would get high school interns (which I didn't even know were a thing). Imagine if you got turned down for an internship because you legally were not allowed to use teams which is how most chats and meetings were held...
I imagine if you're enterprise you can probably opt out of it. I wasn't even aware you could find other people on teams via email/phone number.
Oh it was definitely enterprise. Yeah the company could probably opt certain accounts out of teams but that also drastically reduces the intern's ability to do anything. Basic example is they each were assigned a manager to actually work for them but were also assigned a "mentor" who was higher up and met with them weekly for 30 minutes... Almost always over a teams video call.
