I got my hands on the recent remaster and it was a barrel of fun. Idk how well the horror translated from the original, but I couldn't put the controller down until 3 a.m. the first time I launched it. Also: Steam version worked out of the box on Arch, no fiddling.

I’ve played both versions. Theres maybe a few choice elements I liked from the original, but it was still a very good remake; actually kind of brought down the tongue-in-cheek elements a bit to feel more horror at times.
