The Onion existed to post ridiculous headlines. Reality surpassed the Onion and started coming up with headlines even more ridiculous than what the Onion could come up with. At this point the Onion should just pivot and start posting sane rational headlines like "Republicans and Democrats agree on sensible budget, motion passes with broad bipartisan support".
