I suspect that these 8GB laptops are being sold at a loss to attract customers, with the expectation that they will need to upgrade in a year or two. Those of us who are familiar with the Apple ecosystem may be more likely to purchase additional memory and storage. While it’s easy to admire Tim Cook and Apple, it’s important to remember that he is ultimately a businessperson who is focused on maximizing profits.
