My father found an iPhone while out walking his dogs. it’s case and screen protector looked like it saw better days. I finally got it charged, took the screen protector off because I couldn’t take it looking that way 🤣 and it has an sos in the top right corner. It doesn’t have any lost mode information on it but I’ve seen alerts come up for medication and games.
Since my trying to figure out how to find the owner gotten me into this iPhone unavailable, is there anything else I can try to reunite the phone and owner or should I call it a day and dispose of it?
If you have an Apple Store close by, you can take it to them.
Apple employee here: don’t do that, we are not allowed to do anything about lost phones.
Take it to the nearest police station.
Police don’t want to handle something like this and won’t care for it
He’s just reciting Apples policy. If you mention a lost phone they gotta say take it to the police. If someone says they lose their phone you gotta tell them to call the police.
It’s like the game of hot potato. No no don’t take it to the police station they won’t do anything.
